Johan & Nyström – Tro, Hopp & Kaffe

Last week I wrote about regular coffee, not the very aromatic and complex coffee that you can find in specialty coffee. The reason why is simple, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about coffee that isn’t specialty coffee but tastes like “regular coffee” but better quality, taste and for the environment. So after buying the coffee from awesome Swedish coffee roasteries I’ve written down a review so you can dive deeper in the coffee world together with me.

Last time we had a dark roast, you know that lovely flavor of roasted nuts and cacao? Yeah that’s the one you’ll get if you buy great quality beans that. If you want something more of a mid roast, I would recommend this coffee from Johan & Nyström called Tro, Hopp & Kaffe (translated Faith, Hope & Coffee). It’s silky smooth with flavors of chocolate, butterscotch & sweet plums. This is what’s written on the bag, but I would urge to also tell you about the connection I got with caramel popcorn that you can see that I added to the picture. It really has that toasty flavor of caramel. This works really well together with something sweet to eat and also blended together with milk. However, before we continue, this is actually a specialty coffee! So feel free to try this one out.

So about the name: “Faith, Hope & Coffee”. There’s a reason behind it of course and a  very lovely reason as well. For every sold kilogram they donate a sum to “Maskrosbarn”, a children’s rights organization that support children who has abusive parents or parents who abuse.
