Kafferäven Per Nordby – Subscription – Kopakaki

Yeay it’s finally time to post the second month of Kafferaven’s subscription service.

Let’s begin with quoting the last times post:

“When I first read that Kafferaven had started a Subscription service I really had to try the first months! It’s just something you have to because it’s one of my all time favorites when it comes to specialty coffee roasters.

Their thing about the subscription is that “you will get a monthly delivery of two coffees that we are extra excited about right now”. What I like about this is that it’s not tailored for what I like, this is what the people from Kafferaven are extra excited about, which means that we all get the same coffee and we might like something that we didn’t think we would.”

So for May month’s coffee I chose to begin with the coffee from Rwanda. Just by smelling it I knew I was in for a treat.

When I cupped the coffee I got a lot of acidity, more than I usually do when I brew coffee from Rwanda, almost traditional Kenya style.

I’ve tried a lot of different methods of brewing, but I liked the pour over method the most and that was with the Hario V60 Tetsu Kasuya version. I also favored the acidic version of the 4:6 version, you can find that in a long detailed post on my website. The coffee is great and it’s been one of my better companions May month. If you try it out you can expect a silky smooth citrus like coffee with small hints of berries.

Next week I’ll review the second one of May’s box

Don’t forget to subscribe to @kafferaven for their monthly service, by doing that we can compare notes and/or recipes!
