On Monday I published a post on Instagram (click here) writing that I received sorted items from eguale. It had three bags of coffee and three bars of chocolate as well.
Today I’ll only write about the medium roasted, this bag contains whole beans instead of yesterdays pre-ground. This time I only tried it with Hario V60, Kalita and a Chemex. Because of that, I could grind it to the level of coarseness that I needed to get that perfect brew.
So, let’s get into the coffee. I’m gonna keep this short, it’s not a medium roast for me, it’s darker. However, that doesn’t matter since this is a medium roast for everyone who isn’t used to specialty coffee. I believe that this coffee is perfect for the one who drinks coffee and wants it to be a bit more. I mean the name of the coffee is Women’s Right and the Coffee brand is called eguale. I like that kind of positive thinking.
The coffee is a 100% Arabica Peruvian coffee. They write on the bag that the coffee has fresh intakes of rose-hip, and notes of nut in its aftertaste. It has a lot of nutty flavors and is kinda dark in its taste, I could easilly grind this for an espresso shot and be happy with it. It’s good with breakfast or why not together with a “Swedish fika”?
I will end on the same note as yesterday:
Is this better than specialty coffee? I can only speak for my self and I can’t honestly say that I prefer it. However, many other brands you can find in the supermarket in Sweden destroys the palate and gives an acidic and burned taste, which isn’t good for the experience or your health. This is good and if you want to spend around 16 euro per kilo instead of 50-60 euros, then this is a good choice!
I also tried all types of chocolate to this coffee and the best one suited for this was the one with ginger and lemon, it gave a very spicy taste to the coffee that was very enjoyable.
Check in tomorrow as well, as we’ll go to the next coffee!
