Let’s take a recap with last week’s text since this is the second coffee in last month’s subscription from @kafferaven.
“When I first read that Kafferaven had started a Subscription service I really had to try the first months! It’s just something you have to because it’s one of my all time favorites when it comes to specialty coffee roasters.
Their thing about the subscription is that “you will get a monthly delivery of two coffees that we are extra excited about right now”. What I like about this is that it’s not tailored for what I like, this is what the people from Kafferaven are extra excited about, which means that we all get the same coffee and we might like something that we didn’t think we would.”
The second coffee in April’s subscription is from Costa Rica, which is one of my absolute favorite origins when it comes to coffee. The bag says that this coffee is balanced instead of last week’s “adventurous”, so I’m expecting a chocolateier and sweeter coffee that’s of course an everyday coffee since it’s in the “balanced” bracket.
I brewed it with my Hario V60, 300g water to 20g coffee. Tried it with both 40 and 60 grams of blooming water and preferred the latter. With a steady pulse of pouring water to approximately 2:55 you’ll get a sweet coffee with fresh fruity flavors of apple and plum.
If I had to choose one of these bags, I would prefer to drink Origines from Costa Rica, that’s what’s perfect for me right now.
Don’t forget to subscribe to @kafferaven for their monthly service, by doing that we can compare notes and/or recipes!
